How It Works
This one-of-a-kind upgrade places you inside the cab of a working diesel-electric locomotive alongside one of our professional engineers for approximately 45–60 minutes of your excursion journey. From this front-row vantage point, you’ll witness firsthand what it takes to operate a train on the main line through the beautiful Ozarks. Listen in on real-time railroad communications, observe locomotive controls in action, and enjoy an unforgettable engineer’s-eye view of the route. For the remainder of your excursion, relax in your reserved seat in one of our Deluxe Coach or First-Class passenger cars, combining adventure with comfort.
Pricing & Perks
Pricing: $300 + tax per person, including your seat in one of our restored passenger cars.
Availability: Maximum of 2 cab ride upgrades per trip.
As part of your experience, you’ll also receive exclusive keepsakes, including a custom Branson Scenic Railway safety vest (only available as a cab rider), a BSR hat, and a railroad route map — perfect for tracking your journey and commemorating your time in the cab.

Please Note
To ensure the best possible experience, the specific locomotive, direction of travel, and exact cab ride timing will be determined on the day of your trip. This allows us to accommodate operational factors such as weather, rail traffic, and cab capacity.
- Parties of two may be assigned to separate locomotives, depending on availability.
- Cab ride experiences may be cancelled prior to departure due to unforeseen operational circumstances; in such cases, a full refund will be issued.
- Guests must be able to climb up and down ladders, fit through narrow doorways, and be able to walk on a moving platform to participate in this exclusive activity.
- All Guests will sign a waiver as part of participating in this activity.
- Guest cancellations must be made at least 5 days in advance to receive a refund.
