EXCURSIONS

Departing from the historic 1905 depot in downtown Branson and running on former Missouri Pacific trackage known as the White River Route (now operated by the Missouri & Northern Arkansas), our one-hour and 45-minute excursions traverse rolling hills, spectacular trestles, and deep tunnels that are not accessible by other means of transportation. Our vintage Budd passenger coaches offer incredible vistas through wide windows and panoramic views in three dome cars.

Traveling on a working commercial railroad line, the train’s direction of travel depends on freight traffic and/or track work and is determined by the Missouri & Northern Arkansas Railroad just prior to departure. At that time, the train will go either North or South. All excursions depart from and return to the Branson Depot.

Our Northern Route goes as far as Galena, Missouri, to the James River Valley; and the Southern Route extends into Arkansas to the Barren Fork Trestle. With multiple trips daily, depending on the season, Branson Scenic Railway explores territory inaccessible by automobile and offers views that are unattainable by any other means of transportation. A lively narration points out the landmarks, wildlife, and an outline of the railroad’s role in shaping the Ozarks. Each route take passengers about 20 miles from Branson before reversing direction and returning on the same tracks.

The Branson Scenic Railway depot and train platform has ADA access. Our vintage historic passenger train cars have limited ADA access to a specific car.
